Mode of Action:

Edan is a systemic, chloro-nicotinyl insecticide with soil, seed and foliar uses. The chemical works by interfering with the transmission of stimuli in the insect nervous system. Specifically, it causes a blockage in a type of neuronal pathway (nicotinergic). This blockage leads to the accumulation of acetylcholine, an important neurotransmitter, resulting in the insect's paralysis, and eventually death.

Benefits:
  • Broad spectrum insecticide.
  • Excellent control of sucking insects including rice hoppers, aphids, thrips, whiteflies, termites, turf insects, soil insects and some beetles.
  • High selectivity.
  • Highly effective in low dose so relatively economical.
  • Quick knock down action.
  • Effective tool of Integrated Pest Management.

Method of Application:

Used as seed dressing, as soil treatment and as foliar treatment in different crops. Take a small quantity of clean water and required quantity of Edan. Stir the solution with a stick or rod and mix in remaining amount of clean water.
